Registered Professional Engineer
Branch of Electrical. Authorised to engage in professional engineering work under the Professional Engineers Act 1991.
Thirty years inside the wiring of Singapore. From 22 kV substations to MRT traction power; from HDB blocks housing thousands to the lightning rods on the country's stadiums — the engineer behind the endorsement.
Most Singaporeans will never read his name. They will, however, ride trains he energised, sleep under roofs he signed off, and walk safely past lightning rods he calculated. Er. James Wong Boon Kok has spent three decades as a Professional Engineer in Singapore's electrical industry — the kind of career measured not in headlines but in the steady absence of failures.
He founded AK Engineering & Consultancy Pte Ltd in 2019, after seventeen years at the Land Transport Authority and a stint as the 66 kV / 22 kV utility lead at Changi Airport Group. Today, the firm provides PE endorsement, design review, testing & commissioning, HV/LV switching, troubleshooting and electrical installation licensing — quietly servicing infrastructure, industrial, commercial and residential projects across the island.
Every certificate below is current and verifiable through Singapore's Professional Engineers Board, the Energy Market Authority, and the Institution of Engineers Singapore.

Power, traction and stray-current control for Singapore's mass transit and airport.
Some engineers leave their mark on skylines. James left his on a wildlife rescue centre — quietly, deliberately, and for nothing in return.
ACRES — the Animal Concerns Research & Education Society — is Singapore's homegrown wildlife rescue charity. When ACRES needed a new plot of land cleared for occupation, they turned to CVC Engineers as their Qualified Person to take the project through to TOP.
The work needed an electrical Professional Engineer's endorsement to satisfy compliance — a separate stamp, a separate liability, a separate engineer. When approached, Er. James decided, of his own accord, to take it on as charity. ACRES did good for the country's wildlife; he, as a professional, would do the same for them.
"I'll do it for them — and for any other NGO doing good for society. That's the least one can do."
He reviewed the electrical works, gave them his PE signature, and in doing so cleared the last hurdle standing between ACRES and the Temporary Occupation Permit they were waiting for. The new plot opened on time.
This site is a token of appreciation from CVC Engineers to honour Er. James for that quiet, principled act — and to give an engineer who has never had an online presence the public record his thirty-year career deserves.
